Cancellation Policy

The purchase of courses, workshops, parenting consultations, support packages or Play Therapy sessions indicates your commitment to participate in the process and follow through to its conclusion. However, we also understand that unexpected events can happen. In addition to the general guidelines outlined below, refunds and cancellations will be considered on an individual basis, at the discretion of Childhood Rising. We ask the Client to be committed, and we commit to
offering grace when needed.

Childhood Rising always operates within the guidelines of Australian Consumer Law (ACL). This policy has been written with ACL guidelines in mind and this policy does not override any guidelines or standard of ACL.

This Cancellation Policy ensures;

● Minimal disruptions to the therapist/parenting consultants’ diaries and loss of the therapist/parenting consultants’ time in preparation because of client late cancellations, late rescheduled and missed appointments.
● That other clients do not miss out on opportunities to access therapy or parenting support, as we can offer cancelled appointment times to other clients when cancellations are received with more than 24 hours notice.
● Minimal loss of income to Childhood Rising as the result of client cancellations or missed appointments. We are a private practice, therefore if a client cancels or reschedules late or does not arrive for their scheduled appointment the therapist/parenting consultants loses income. We are committed to this important work and a consistent income ensures we can provide a sustainable service.

Please note that while we endeavour to remind you of your appointments through SMS reminders, these should not be relied upon and it is your responsibility to remember appointments you have made.

In general, these guidelines apply for Play Therapy and Parenting Consultation cancellations, missed appointments and late reschedules;

● Please give the Therapist/Parenting Consultant at least 24 hrs notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
● If less than 24 hours notice is received, or no notice is received at all, 100% of the full fee is charged.
● No fee is charged for reschedules and  cancellations received more than 24 hours prior to your scheduled session date and time.
● We understand that unavoidable circumstances can happen and cancellation fees will be waived on an individual basis. This is at the discretion of the Therapist.

In general, these guidelines apply for course and workshop refunds and cancellations:

● All sales are final and refunds are not provided for change of mind.
● When specific courses offer a 30-day money back guarantee term, all clients in such programs reserve the right to cancel their service and request a refund if they complete 60% of the program and do not receive the benefits the program claims to provide. Refunds for such programs are assessed on a case-by-case basis and clients must submit evidence of having completed at least 60% of the course content to be eligible for a refund. Failure to do so is seen as cancellation due to change of mind and a refund does not apply.
● Refunds are not provided for workshops already attended. We understand that unavoidable circumstances can happen and cancellation fees will be waived on an individual basis.

Administration of Refunds

When refunds have been approved by the Director of Childhood Rising, the client will be notified via email and payment will be returned within 48 business hours. Clients can expect refunds to clear into their nominated bank account or financial institution within 2 – 5 business days.

Collection of Cancellation Fees
In instances where a cancellation fee is applied, this will be invoiced to you separately.

Collection of Outstanding Fees
Please note that services cannot continue when accounts are more than 3 weeks overdue.

Future appointments will be paused if you have an outstanding account. Please see our Payment Policy for more information.

In instances where accounts continue to remain outstanding, your account will be referred to a debt collection agency for fund recovery. In such instances, you will also be liable for any additional fees and charges + GST as specified by the debt collection agency of our choice.
